The quiet, back roads on the Amish Back Roads Bicycle Tour are full of surprises. It's impossible not to fall in love
with this rare world when you pedal past fields still ploughed by draft horses, and barns decorated with colorful hexen
meant to protect the crops and livestock inside. This loop takes you from the rural Mennonite communities of the
Lehigh Valley deep into Lancaster County with its buggy-filled farm roads. You can listen to the gutteral rumble of
farmers speaking their native Deutch language, and learn about the Amish culture while you feast at an Amish
family's dinner table. Explore an early American iron making village and one of the first religious communes in
America. Feel the thrill of flight at the Golden Age Air Museum....maybe even from the cockpit of a bi-plane.
Everyday has something new, whether it's a group of barefoot children playing ball in a schoolhouse yard or you
pedaling madly around the banked turns at the T-Town Velodrome. And at the end of each day you'll relax in one of
our exceptional hotels. There are so many reasons this tour has become our most popular. We are sure you'll have
a fabulous time.
Loop travels from Hamburg to Hershey to Bird-in-Hand to Morgantown to Foglesville, back to Hamburg.
Daily Mileage: 50-60 miles
Terrain: Rolling hills; Nothing long is ever steep. Nothing steep is ever long.
Suitable for intermediate and advanced riders.

As long as the white man has lived in this region, people have been drawn to the beauty of the Delaware and Lehigh River valleys. We are no
exception. Join us this summer when we travel exceptionally scenic roads that were once Indian footpaths, crossing back and forth over these two
magnificent rivers. This tour is almost literally in our back yard. We live locally and have been spoiled by riding these roads for years. We decided to
put the best of the best together for you - the best roads with the best views and the best hotels, and now we're looking forward to sharing it with you.
There will be a wide variety of terrain, from almost flat as we tool along next to the rivers, to fairly hilly whenever we leave the valleys. Happily, no
matter what the terrain, the roads are all very rural with light traffic and some spectacular views along the way. And because this is Scamp n Rascal
and we always stay in the best available lodging, you're gonna love where you wind up at the end of each day. So meet us in Lambertville, NJ, just
across the river from it's more famous cousin New Hope, PA, and ride along with us as we head north, and then south, through Bethlehem, Shawnee-
on-the-Delaware and Milford, PA. Our route south will bring us back to Shawnee-on-the-Delaware and Bethlehem, but the roads, scenery and
experiences will be completely different. Wait and see!
Route travels from Lambertville, NJ to Bethlehem, PA to Shawnee to Milford to Shawnee to Bethlehem and back to Lambertville.
Daily Mileage: 50-60 miles
Terrain: flat to hilly. Some hills are long with steep sections.
Suitable for strong intermediate and advanced riders

*On two nights of this tour we will be staying in hotels in which the rooms have only one queen or one king bed. The standard double occupancy price assumes two people
will be sharing a room each night. This implies that on two nights they will be in a room with only one bed.
The non-standard double occupancy price means two people will share a room in the hotels that have two beds per room. In the hotels which have rooms with only one bed,
each rider will have his/her own room. This implies that participants will have their own bed each night.
In other words, if you are booking double occupancy and are willing to share one bed, the standard double price is appropriate. If you are not willing to share a bed, either
the single or non-standard double option is appropriate.

We hope this will be the "sweetest" tour you ever experience! Everyone who stays there agrees that a night in the Hotel Hershey, in Hershey PA
("The Sweetest Place on Earth") is a sweet start to any adventure. But only those who have ridden with us before know just how sweet the quiet,
rural roads that meander through Amish farm country can be. We're confident you'll have plenty of sweet dreams on our overnight stays in
Ephrata, Bird-In-Hand and Lititz (home of the famous Wilbur Chocolate Factory), and you will have plenty of opportunity to experience the
sweetness of life at a slower pace with few cars. In fact, on our layover day our route options (which range from 25-60 miles) will get you so far off
the beaten path that you'll wonder where all the power lines and telephone poles went. It's truly sweeet!
