Amish Country Weekend

You'll feel the cares of the world simply slip from your shoulders as you pedal past
farmers working fields with their teams while their wives tend the garden and the
kids play games in the yard. This rich and colorful farmland was once the bread
basket of America. It's still a peaceful place where things are done the old
fashioned way. The hustle and bustle are gone. The roads are perfect, the sight
seeing exceptional, and when the day is done you can kick back and relax in the
exceptional Amish View Inn and Suites

Day One - Friday
Our Amish Country Weekend officially starts on Friday evening after you
check into your rooms in the wonderful Amish View Inn and Suites.  Supper
will be at a genuine Amish Smorgasbord. Make sure you bring a huge
appetite. By the way, if you think you can get here early, let us know. We'll
send you an optional cue sheet ride to let you work the kinks out before the
    feast.

Day Two - Saturday
After our scrumptious breakfast Saturday, we’ll point our noses north. We’ll
be riding to Ephrata. Here you can visit the famous Ephrata Cloister, one of
America’s earliest religious communities. Our route takes us through
covered bridges and along back roads where buggies are a more common
sight than cars.  After touring the Cloister, lunch will be on your own. We
can recommend several good places to eat. We’ll regroup after lunch and
start working our way back, counting the one-room schoolhouses along the
way. You'll want to work up an appetite. Dinner will be at an Amish farm.
Pennsylvania’s Amish are known for their delicious, fresh off the farm
(literally) cooking. It will be impossible for you to walk away from the table
    hungry.

Approximately 50 miles, ridge and valley rolling hills.

Day Three - Sunday
Today is one of Paul’s favorite rides and one of Karen’s favorite photo
opportunities. We’ll head south, almost to Maryland. The terrain can be a bit
hilly, but the rewards for the climbs are glorious. These are the prettiest
roads we know of anywhere. It’s like riding through a Currier and Ives
calendar (only in color). You’re far away from the modern world out here.
You won’t pass cars. You may not even pass many buggies since it’s
Sunday. We think of it as cycling heaven. You'll love it.

    Rolling with several climbs.
